Marywood Service Trip - Texas

Support Marywood's Texas Service Trip!

A group of students, faculty and staff will travel to southern Texas to participate in a Border Witness Program, which is an educational tour of the Rio Grande Valley. They will learn about issues related to immigration and asylum and visit refugee shelters, detention centers, colonias, and other organizations along the border. Through direct and personal contact, they will learn the stories of the people and communities facing poverty, oppression and the challenges of living on the border. This first-hand experience will allow the group to be a voice and be able to be more informed speak with others about the realities along the border and to advocate for those in need. They will also spend time assisting with projects that extend compassion to those seeking to live lives without violence, oppression, and extreme poverty.
